Tracking API - A New Way to Your Data

What is the Tracking API?

The Tracking API enables organizations to "call" Expeditors to get data and configure it for use in enterprise and reporting applications.

The Tracking API is a self-service systems integration option for situations where the requirement is simply to read shipment or container tracking data from one business system to another. The receiving system must still be configured to surface the information to end users in a useful way.

 Who would use the API?

• Customers using Expeditors transportation services who want to integrate real-time shipment or container tracking information into enterprise business and reporting applications

• Organizations wanting transparency for integrated shipment or container tracking on their own customer-facing websites

• Customers currently using large data dumps to transfer raw data for use in their own applications

What are the Benefits?

• Supports the dynamic nature of global logistics by enabling on-demand or polling access to real-time transactional data

• Economical to implement requiring minimal infrastructure to setup and maintain

• Streamlines operations by allowing users to access information through their organization's own supply chain applications

• Built-in security using best practices in token authentication and session management

• Efficient alternative to large data dumps of status information that are then integrated into other applications

• Utilizes the same source data as the EXP.O NOW application
