Tradewin ACE Modernization/Duty Minimization Seminar

July 21

9:00am-4:30pm (UTC-04:00)

Country Club of Waterbury

One Oronoke Road

Waterbury, Connecticut 06708

The ACE Portal Modernization is underway, yet it is the legacy portal that is the primary source for information that allow traders to monitor their transactional activity. The portal’s full capabilities can be difficult to extract, so we will provide tips and tricks for working with your company’s data within the portal, demonstrate how to run and modify reports, and show how to use the ACE system to augment your auditing work. Please bring your laptop so you can sign in to ACE and practice with your own company’s data.

Minimizing duties is one of the fastest ways to bring financial returns to a company's bottom line. Duty minimization strategies such as the use of TIBs, MPF Management, Drawback, Free Trade Agreements, and Foreign Trade Zones save real money during the import process, but the concepts remain complex, misunderstood, and misapplied. Improper use of Incoterms can also contribute to surprise costs. We will discuss how duty minimization strategies work and how certain tactics might apply to your business. We will close with a discussion of how the 2020 version of Incoterms can be used to your company’s benefit.

Smart Cargo Webinar

July 21

1:00pm-2:00pm (UTC-07:00)

Webinar

Ready to take control of your supply chain? Real-time, in-transit visibility is the first step. Rather than waiting for someone to physically search for your freight to give you an update, placing a sensor directly on your cargo can automatically provide you information about where it is and whether it’s safe. Join Expeditors as we host a webinar with Cargo Signal to learn about sensor-based logistics and how it can bring transparency to your supply chain.

What sensor-based logistics will enable you to do now:

  • See exactly where your cargo is with single use devices that don’t require reverse logistics
  • Connect with carriers in real time to stop theft
  • Identify if your freight is stationary when it shouldn’t be
  • Catch your cargo before it gets misrouted
  • Course correct delays

Americas - Automotive Southern Border Webinar

July 27

8:00am-9:00am (UTC-07:00)

Webinar

As the North American Automotive market is trying to find its footing again, we must continue to focus on the north and southbound material flow at the border between the U.S. and Mexico. Several developments impact our ability to efficiently process your shipments across the border. These developments range from economic (demand fluctuations, driver availability, fuel prices, etc.) to political (e.g. increasing border inspections into Texas) and to regulatory (USMCA, Complemento Carta Porte, Aviso de Cruce, etc.). The focus of this webinar will be on how to address the regulatory issues. There is a strong expectation that sourcing for North American vehicle production supplies will shift (to a degree) from Asia to Mexico. As this trend continues, the importance of a smooth border-crossing process becomes even more critical. This webinar will enable you to gain a deeper insight into the current situation at the Southern Border, as well as an opportunity to identify areas where service providers can play a crucial role in further assisting you with facilitating cross-border traffic. We look forward to welcoming you to the webinar on July 27!
